Preservation, dissemination, cooperation. Free and open archaeology: the new frontier of research.
MOD (MAPPA Open Data) is the digital archaeological archive developed by the MAPPA Project team to preserve and disseminate the archaeographic documentation (Datasets) and grey literature (Reports) produced during archaeological surveys.
The MAPPA Project intends using MOD to protect the persons who have produced documentation in any form whatsoever including both archaeographic raw data (Datasets) and grey literature (Reports). For this reason it has assigned a DOI to each Dataset and/or Report and uses a CC BY-SA 3.0 license to allow, at the same time, correct data circulation and protection of authorship.
MOD was conceived from the experience gained in Pisa, but thanks to the collaboration of all it aspires to become a shared platform for the entire country. Whoever is interested in cooperating and adding new Data to the archive may contact us at info@mappaproject.org
Access to MOD is free, whoever uses MOD accepts the Terms and Conditions of Use and the Disclaimer
